Français en famille

Ce programme gratuit s’adresse au parent, à la tutrice ou au tuteur qui ne parle pas français et

qui désire appuyer le cheminement scolaire d’un enfant inscrit dans une école publique de langue française.

Durant le programme de 16 semaines, le parent, la tutrice ou le tuteur apprendra, entre autres, à :
  • favoriser la francisation de son enfant par des activités telles la lecture, les comptines et les jeux éducatifs;
  • comprendre les outils de communication de l’école (bulletin, agenda, lettres, formulaires);
  • appuyer son enfant dans ses devoirs;
  • participer activement à la vie scolaire;
  • découvrir les ressources disponibles en français dans sa communauté.

• Are you the parent or guardian of a child enrolled in junior kindergarten, senior kindergarten or the first grade at a French-language public elementary school?
• Do you want to support your child in his or her academic development (homework, reading, writing, oral communication and mathematics skills)?
• Would you like to familiarize yourself with the French terminology used in schools?
• Would you like to develop basic French skills to communicate with school personnel (teaching staff, secretary, principal, etc.)?
• Are you looking for French-language activities and resources to support your child's Francization at home?

In sixteen 90-minute sessions, you will learn to:
• Get to know your child's school environment.
• Foster your child's Francization through activities like reading, the alphabet, nursery rhymes, numbers, and educational games.
• Understand the school's communication tools such as the newsletter, agenda, letters, forms, and school and events calendars.
• Understand the components of the report card.
• Prepare for parent-teacher meetings.
• Support your child in his or her homework.
• Take an active part in school life (educational outings, volunteering atthe school, school council, etc.)
• Discover the French resources available in your community.
